At Elevate English & Academic Coaching, we believe that education is not one-size-fits-all.
Every student brings a different combination of strengths, challenges, goals, interests, and learning experiences to the table. Some students need support developing stronger study habits and becoming more organized. Others want to take their English and writing skills to the next level. Some are preparing for important academic milestones or applying to universities and need thoughtful guidance through the process.
Whatever the starting point, our goal is the same: to help students become more confident, capable, and independent learners.
Elevate provides individualized English and academic coaching for students and families in the Netherlands, with a particular focus on internationally minded students and those navigating international, IB, GCSE, A-Level, and American educational pathways.
Meet the Instructor
I’m an experienced classroom teacher, tutor, and educator with a Master’s degree in English Literature and a passion for helping students become confident, capable, and independent learners.
Having grown up attending international schools in different parts of the world, I also understand firsthand what it is like to learn in a multicultural environment and navigate different educational systems and expectations. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities that come with an international education, and it allows me to connect with students who may be balancing different cultures, curricula, and academic expectations.
Throughout my experience in education, I’ve seen that every student learns differently. Some students need help strengthening their academic English, while others need support finding their voice in their writing, preparing for an important exam, or navigating the demands of a challenging academic environment. My approach is centered on understanding the individual student first, then creating instruction that meets them where they are and helps them move forward.
At Elevate English & Academic Coaching, I combine my classroom teaching and personal experience as an international student with personalized tutoring to provide thoughtful, one-on-one support. My goal isn't simply to help students complete an assignment or prepare for a test it’s to give them the skills, strategies, and confidence they can carry with them into their next academic challenge.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and understood. Effective tutoring should be more than simply providing the right answer. It should help students understand why an answer is right, develop strategies for approaching problems independently, and recognize their own ability to succeed.
That is why every Elevate session is personalized to the student's goals, learning style, and current needs.
